About Me

Me: I’m a 22 year old living in North West London trying to find a balance between my graduate job as a food buyer, trying lots of lovely new foods whilst not gaining a hundred stone, spending time with my beautiful friends and enjoying everything that London has to offer!

The Bistro: I have always loved food, both eating and preparing it, but it’s only since graduating from university in 2013 that I’ve found myself with more time (and money) on my hands and have been able to really start working on my culinary skills. I cooked most of my food at university (with the occasional takeaway thrown in) but I stuck to easy, cheap recipes that I felt safe with, and I wanted this to change.

Moving out of my family home and down to London on my own meant that I had completely free reign of the kitchen and I was (and still am) determined to try and cook at least one thing completely new to me every month.

Whilst I am not a complete beginner in the kitchen, I am by no means an expert and I wanted somewhere to document my successes and failures along the way whilst sharing my recipes with others who might be in a similar situation to me.

Having a little bistro is a dream of mine that will (hopefully) one day become a reality. Until then, I am more than happy to carry on cooking in my little kitchen and feeding my friends and family for as long as they want me to!

The testers: Most of my food is tested out on work colleagues and my flatmates – who don’t seem to complain too much when I tell them I’ll be busy in the kitchen every other weekend. When I’m back at home, my parents, sisters and dog all play guinea pigs to my cooking and there’s nothing I love more than coming home to a full fridge and getting experimental!

Contact: I love hearing from all my readers, so please let me know what you think, and if you have any requests or recipes to try then send them my way! You can contact me on here or…

  3. Hi Helena!

Hope you’re well! I wanted to first of all thank you for being a subscriber to my blog!

I’m reaching out to you to let you know about some changes to my blog site. A couple of months ago, I moved to a self hosted site. While the link remains the same and I could move all my subscribers over without a hitch, I just found out that my WordPress followers like yourself would have to visit my new site and resubscribe to it if you wanted to keep receiving email notifications every time I posted (which I’m hoping you do!).

I just wanted to bring this to your attention. I’m reaching to all my lovely fellow WordPress followers because I’ve loved the interaction I’ve had with all of them even if it was just a plain old ‘like’!

    Have a great day!
